Interior design is a huge passion of mine. Looking back I wish I had been confident enough to pursue that as my degree, but you live and you learn and most importantly you move forward. So in true Haley fashion, I've poured that passion into my home.
I'm a Home Goods regular. I could get lost in that store for hours without knowing how much time has passed. All the employees practically scream "Hi Haley!" in unison when I walk through the automatic sliding glass doors.
I kid. I wish they did that. That would make my day for sure. :)
Here are some of my favorite Home Goods finds in the last year or so. Tip: If you want it... Don't wait because things disappear so fast with the low prices and the overall cuteness overload that this store has going for it. My motto is "If the moolah allows, buy it now."
Random Thought: If my design style had to be a dessert I think it would be a vanilla dish of ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. Because why not think of dessert when you are trying to talk about design?
Anyways, I always like to start with a great floor that is beautiful, but doesn't overpower the room and paint the walls a bright, airy, and crisp neutral. In my mind those are the vanilla ice cream portion of my dessert design style. The fun part is obviously the rainbow sprinkles which would be the interchangeable decor items. I'm never fully done with a room so I love the base to be able to roll with whatever design trend I throw at it.
Over the years I've followed countless blogs and been inspired by so many talented designers and DIYers, but no one holds a candle to the influence Young House Love has had on me. This past year they have made the decision to put their blog on hold, but I have high hopes that one day they will pick it back up.
In the mean time, I regularly find myself reading through their archives and paging through their first book Young House Love that came out in 2012. I am absolutely giddy about their new book, Lovable Livable Home, coming out in the fall and can't wait to get my hands on it! I eat their design/DIY wisdom up with a spoon! So good!
I've rounded up some of my favorite projects that they have done and I know they will inspire you too!
Warning: You may lose hours getting lost in their archives because there is oodles of greatness there!
