Recently I've started an exciting new adventure! I have a huge passion for interior decorating and I am constantly redecorating rooms. So when Lisa approached me about helping her finish styling her office for her new real estate office I was over the moon! Lisa had already chosen all of the furniture and she did a fantastic job! I brought in artwork, accessories, and organizational items to make her office not just polished and pretty, but functional as well. My first stop is always HomeGoods when needing items for a new space. I can't even remember what I did before we got a store here in Norman. Love them!
When styling an office pretty + functional always wins. So a large textured tray was just what her desk needed to corral paper work for this busy lady! Plus, I was having the hardest time finding a cute pencil cup that wasn't the standard silver mesh so I went to the glassware isle and picked up a darling glass and used it instead!
Next stop was Target to peruse the Nate Berkus office line. He has worked wonders with office decor and I absolutely adore my dachshund tape dispenser on my own desk. I picked up another pack of mint hanging folders from his line, but what I needed for this project was more organizational items and I was smitten with these black and white striped magazine holders in Target's Room Essentials line. I read somewhere (if you know let me know) that every room needs a pop of black and I think these magazine holders are just the ticket! Another great organizational tip is that if you have the KALLAX shelving unit from Ikea, the Threshold brand fabric bins from Target fit perfectly into the square cubbies. I grabbed four of those for the bottom of the unit to create a streamlined look.
Slightly blurry, but I really love how Lisa mixed metals here. The silver nailhead trim on the chairs, the brass side table, and the gold trimmed shelf from West Elm all work together without being too matchy matchy. Another tray at the base of the shelf corrals magazines, while pops of pink steal the show on the rest of the shelves. Also how awesome are these mini sunburst mirrors? HomeGoods had a bunch of these three mirror collections for under $15! Perfect way to add a little sparkle to your walls!
Photos add so much charm to office spaces that can otherwise seem intimidating and all business. Creating an inviting atmosphere is so important especially for real estate or other offices that serve families, newlyweds, etc. and guide them in a huge life step such as buying a house. I snapped this photo before she got a chance to pop a picture in that frame, but an Instagram photo would fit perfectly in that small square frame!
